After spending 20 years
working in Corporate America, Chef Lisa left the hustle and bustle of
the corporate world to follow a life-long dream: to own her own
business. Lisa has always loved to cook, and has been preparing
delicious meals for family and friends for over 30 years. After
searching for ways to combine her passion for preparing delicious,
nutritious food with her life-long dream, in early 2000 The Portable Chef was born.
Having spent many years juggling the demands of family and career, Lisa
realized that there were many people out there who, like her, were
searching for ways to improve the quality of their diet and the quality
of the oh-so-precious time spent with family and friends.
Chef Lisa supplemented
her business education and cooking skills with culinary training
received through the award-winning culinary arts program at Central
Piedmont Community College (CPCC) in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Chef Lisa is a member of the American
Personal Chef Association.
Formerly operating in Charlotte, North
Carolina, Lisa's clients range from professional athletes to physicians
and busy executives to time-crunched Moms, all with one thing in common
-- a desire to eat better tasting, healthier food and a lack of time to
make it happen. That's where Chef Lisa comes in.
Chef Lisa is also an avid
supporter and fund-raiser for the Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Lisa regularly donates her
services as a personal chef to provide planning, cooking and in-home
catering services for Cook for the
Cure™ dinner parties, an innovative program started by the
Susan
G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and KitchenAid®
to raise money for breast cancer research through fund-raising dinner
parties. If you would like more information about hosting your own
Cook for the Cure™ dinner
party with The Portable Chef, please contact

In loving memory of Bobbie J. Ridley (1933 - 2003), who fought the good
fight. We love you and miss you very much.
